Bitter Love

A friend of mine came to me with a problem, that has existed for years now, yes he was upset and upset because, someone he loved, had hurt him, now thats not something new, you're only hurt by someone you love, for when you don't love someone, what he/she does, doesn't really matter, so coming back to this friend and his problem that he was hurt, very honestly what I felt the real problem was not him being hurt,  but it was something that I call the contrarian problem of Bitter Love. And so my mind wanders in thinking that;

The bitter anguish that sometimes touches the heart is perhaps a result of possessive love not meeting what its seeks.
Yes love is possessive and if not, its not love.
But then again possession can at times turn obsession;
we all know that obsessive can be a disorder.
So does that mean love can be a disorder???
I guess not, for love brings order in chaos, it turns a frown upside down into a smile and its even the key ingredient to make movies run;
but most of all, it only gives, then how can love be possessive?
Authors, poets, thinkers, dreamers, film-makers and patisserie bakers have for long made love an inspiration to their work, the result of which is always a delight to read, see and taste.
So how then can love ever be responsible for the bitter anguish that sometimes touches the heart.

Then again love is naive, tender and gentle, and will respond only in a manner it knows and is;
Maybe when love is not on the other side;
its the hurt the brings about the high tide...
So next time you feel bitter,
don't fret or jitter,
cos what you wanted to share was love,
but to the shared your love seemed curt,
And that perhaps, was the reason you were hurt.

And No I did not give this explanation to my friend,
cos deep down I knew, it was not yet, the end.

A gift called ‘FRIENDSHIP’

"There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one' friend" (John 15:13) a quote by Jesus to his disciples, this shows that the meaning of friendships goes way beyond time and understanding of the human intellect and reasoning.

Who is a friend before you know the person; a stranger, but even causal talking gives you the association and the thread of friendship begins to weave itself around and with the passage of time the bond of friendship strengthens so much that one is willing to do anything for this friendship and this is with everyone in society; the good, the bad and the others. Even bad guys have friends, and although they may find these friends in the closest of associates, they still are friends. Talking about laying down one's life for a friend was epitomized in Bollywood's golden flick 'Sholay' when Jai flipped the doubled sided coin and stayed back only so that he could let Veeru live. But there are times when the friends do turn foes, even Judas did and hence this so called relationship isn't definitive, having said that, it also doesn't imply that one looks at friends with the yellow lenses, for its often said that although you don't have a choice in choosing your relatives you do when it comes to friends, but most often you do not really choose your friends they just happen and these friends are not for reason or seasons, they are for the one time in life called 'forever'.

They help you build up memories of life, from doing homework together to bunking classes, from playing pranks to taking sides, from bashing you up to giving you a shoulder to cry on, friends are angels sent from heaven, so that everyone could feel divinity on earth. I am sure most of you guys reading this have friends, so take time out to tell them that they are precious and you really care: Happy Friendships Day to All J

Random Musings: Happiness

So often than not, the one thing that every human being is constantly searching is that feeling of Happiness, many mistake this feeling to the externals, like maybe winning a lottery or perhaps meeting a loved one, but the moment reality kicks in, i.e you have to pay the tax on the winning amount, or its time to say goodbye to the person, that feeling starts to lessen in some measure, even worse in some cases, it just goes away…  So what does one do, in order to stay happy??? One could find an answer to that in reggae town singer Bob Marley hit single ‘Don’t worry, Be happy’ a tune that puts a smile on many a faces, but this again translates happiness, to being momentary and not lasting. And this brings us to a conclusion which is far different than what we tend to perceive, which is, we tend to seek happiness in momentary situations and perhaps that is why it short lived.

Last night as I watched the television, I watched a reality show on a popular music channel, as the show began to progress I asked myself what and why is it that these guys are willing to risk it all, or painstakingly take the effort of participating in a show, when the chances are as bleak as 1% to any given contestant… are they seeking happiness too… maybe yes and maybe no… the irony because, you come there with intention a and what happens to you in most cases is perhaps beyond z, but then out of nowhere there is a radiant light on many a faces, even if they don’t make it, why ??? Because they have found themselves, they found who they really are and sometimes even that elusive noun called purpose… and that is what brings them real happiness, happiness that comes from within. So the next time you feel a little low and unhappy, maybe for temporarily relief you can tune in to the Marley song or perhaps a chocolate bar or tub full of ice-cream may do the trick, however at the end of it all happiness is where you are and what you ought to be, remember that, tomorrow is fuller than a thousand yesterdays. So take your chances, do the unusual, walk the tight rope, for the pursuit of happiness lies within you and in that journey inward you will find true happiness.
